Following the business strategy ‘being the fastest in changing all the time’ Dutch FilmWorks (DFW) has grown to be the leading independent distributor of filmed entertainment in the Benelux since its start in 1998. DFW is active in all windows: Theatrical, DVD, VOD and TV. Successes include a wide range of international titles such as Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, The Mauritanian, The Wolf of Wall Street, BBC’s Earth and in 2022 Moonfall is upcoming. Dutch product is an important pillar with a variety in genres such as comedy Rebels @School, family film Silverstar, world war II thriller The Resistance Banker and romantic comedy Life As It Should Be.
DFW is aggregator for iTunes, Google Play, Netflix and Amazon. In 2014 the company started to co-produce local films and series, which organically resulted in the sales of international rights to major players in their existing network. Important global deals in 2018 were The Resistance Banker and Undercover - the first Dutch-language series exclusively available on Netflix worldwide. While DFW works more and more on local films and series with high international potential, global activities were professionalized in 2019 by setting up the sales division DFW International, which is attending all major film and television markets worldwide to present the international catalogue. Its successes include war drama My Best Friend Anne Frank, crime thriller Black Widow, high profile drama series Women Of The Night and award-winning family adventure Pirates Down The Street.
